Marc Mylar’s life in
music began at age ten in Turners Falls, MA. Basic training continued
through to the Idyllwild School of Music and the Arts in Southern
California. From there, his journey is a classic study of how artistic
success so often accompanies an uncompromising vision. As musician,
producer, engineer and entrepreneur, his credits are both extensive and
acclaimed.
After an extended stay in
England, Marc immersed himself deep into the Los Angeles music scene.
His work included The Wingtips, Leaving Trains, Claw Hammer, Lazy
Cowgirls, Zoogz Rift, and dozens of others. His release ‘Nutritionally
Sound’ (with Rift) has received airplay and glowing reviews worldwide.
As a member of Bag: Theory,
Mylar brings the talent of a virtuoso, the wisdom of a scholar and the
ideas of a madman. Blending various styles and techniques, his sound is
unmistakable. He will rarely do the expected, an exploding cigar in the
guise of a musician.
Marc also lends his playing
and ideas to The Amadans, Two Separate Gorillas, endless sessions,
underground cartoons and his own newly formed jazz ensemble.
Don’t let his wry smile
and professional demeanor fool you. Marc Mylar is devious, mischievous,
and means business.
